a list i found on a fellow vimeophile's website.
10 things it takes most of us 50 years to learn:
1. The badness of a movie is directly proportional to the number of helicopters in it.
2. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight-saving time.
3. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.
4. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above-average drivers.
5. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is: age 11.
6. There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
7. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.
8. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be "meetings."
9. The main accomplishment of almost all organized protests is to annoy people who are not in them.
10. If there really is a God who created the entire universe with all of its glories, and he decides to deliver a message to humanity, he will NOT use as his messenger a person on cable TV with a bad hairstyle or in some cases, really bad make-up too.
11. You should not confuse your career with your life.
12. A person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter/janitor, is not a nice person.
13. No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously.
14. When trouble arises and things look bad, there is always one individual who perceives a solution and is willing to take command. Very often, that individual is crazy.
15. Your true friends love you, anyway.
16. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

The main candidates saluted Mr Chirac last night for the dignity of his resignation speech, with the exception of Jean-Marie Le Pen, leader of the far-right Front National, who called him the “worst president in French history”.
“Chirac was the symbol of political corruption in the eyes of the entire world,” Mr Le Pen said.

The Office
I’ve spent much of the past two days watching the second season of The Office. The US version that is. I wasn’t crazy about the first season, because as much as I love Steve Carell, he’s not as good at being Ricky Gervais as Ricky is. However, the second season has developed the other characters, who i believe are funnier, and Steve has developed as well. It’s real good. Here’s a taste, when Michael Scott (Steve Carell) goes to an improv class. He actually reminds me of a certain improv-er at my school.

shark attack
I visited a marriot to welcome ben klein to delray today. god thats the most beautiful marriot i've ever seen. it looks more like a hyatt or something. i thought marriots were closer to best westerns...but this one was gloriously fancy.
right now i'm using my sister's intel macbook to encode some video i shot today of the shark attack, god this thing screams. I will upload it onto vimeo sometime tomorrow, check the feed on the right of the website for it, and watch it, its really remarkable, and a bit frightening.

politics, software and the internet
I've been listening to Barack Obama's politics. I personally love him. But even if you don't you must download this podcast. Just for the first one second. Barack says the most agressively loud and monotonous "Hello". It's hilarious. It reminded me of Will Ferrell's skit where he has the voice modulation thing.
How hard is it to find a website that will allow me to create something that looks like this: merlinmann.com and allows me to link out of their domain? very difficult, apparently. so frustrating. freewebs, googlepages, spymac, you all suck, i hate you a bit. damn you.
Leo Laporte, the podfather, watched the hotchkiss facebook song...he called it "boring". It made me laugh a lot. Fuck hotchkiss.
Internet was down for me for about 5 hours today, it was amazing. everything that i do every day is completely dependent on the internet, i was like...well i'll just ohwait...well i can do this while i wait....oh shit. o mannnnn. It's amazing that 98 % of my entertainment comes in one way or the other from the internet.
net@nite talked to Evan Williams. Can you believe the same guy founded Odeo, Blogger and twitter? Pretty amazing.
NPR has a 5 minute news summary that comes in at 7 AM. I enjoy it, because i like news, but not enough to spend 10 minutes on it.
I'm known as a mac enthusiast among my group of friends, and recently more and more of them are showing up with macbooks. Each one, to a man, click the dashboard icon (which is so pointless btw) on the dock and say something along the lines of "i love this guy" or "i love this little thing". And my response is always the same. You'll get tired of it. once the cache gets huge and you don't know how to empty it, once you grow to fear those moments when you hit it by accident and your whole system stops while it loads, you will hate it. And they always do. This is one of the features that apple desperately needs to revamp in Leopard... I have mine completely disabled.

Today's post
vimeo...man its tough to make movies when you're almost completely isolated from society. I want to make another communal world's worst, but there's nobody to ask.
listening to macbreak weekly...best podcast on the net. john foster is such a nerd, and the guy andy Ihnatko who they have on now will always have a special place in my heart from his Star Wars reference at MacWorld. Check out one of their Macworld podcasts for it, it's unbelievable, he essentially compares the iPhone to the death star...really good.
I'm trying to find a good website for my personal website...ala merlinmann.com and other stuff...to collect my entire online presence. I am adamently against myspace, because its so friggin ugly and 'jersey'.
working on organizing everything into a cohesive tumblog.
thats all for now. peace

Random Thoughts
The bills signed 3 new linemen. I'm happy, but 48 million is too much to spend on a fat guy....unlesss he's really good, and i really don't know. Anyway one is named Widdle...and he's enormous, thats an joke waiting to happen.
There's an antitrust lawsuit going on in Iowa against Microsoft. Documents were shown that they considered dropping Office for osx just to hurt apple. Bitches.
www.omnidrive.com
I'm testing their mac beta client now. It's horrendous. Really the worst thing i've ever tried in my entire life. Really awful. If you have osx, don't sign up for omnidrive. It's real crap. Disgusting
del.ico.us is cool, go there and search around. One problem: The search takes way too long.
